Overall Goal of the Society

To promote awareness of the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and behavioral manifestations of trauma and the treatment approaches and resources available for trauma survivors.

Objectives of the Society

  • To offer ongoing information of specialized trauma techniques as well as practical trauma-related support information and continuing education for trauma care service providers.
  • To develop conferences, workshops, forums and discussion opportunities to educate the general public and trauma recovery providers on new theories and recovery approaches.
  • To provide a source for networking and support among members
  • To cooperate and exchange information with the media, governmental, educational and health care institutions and agencies.
  • To stimulate high standards of practice among professional and volunteer trauma recovery providers.
  • To provide a forum for the consideration and discussion of issues and affecting the membership.
  • To design and develop a website containing relevant information and resource.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to any Canadian providing services to those who have experienced emotional trauma. Acceptance into the society is based on assessment of knowledge and abilities to provide specialized trauma care services of a wholistic nature.

Annual fees are $25.00
